이/은 can only come after the word that is ending with a sound of a consonant.
for example :
동생이/은 공부하고있다. - dongseng ee/eun gong bu ha go eet da (dongseng is studying)
선생님 이/은 밥 먹고있다. - seonsaeng nim ee/eun bab muhtgo eet da.
는 and 가 can only come after the word ending with a vowel sound.
for example :
우리 오빠가/는 말하고있다. - woori oppa ga/neun mal ha go eet da (my brother is talking)
여자가/는 울고있다. - yuhja ga/neun ool goo eet da (that girl is crying)
